Why take Nutritional Supplements ?

Based on my research and experience, I strongly believe that nutritional or food supplement is good for you.  It's much safer for your health to take supplements derived from whole foods than synthetic substances.  The real benefit is that supplements help your body replenish the necessary amount of dietary nutrients it needs every day.  Sometimes supplements treat the true causes of health problems, safely, naturally and effective than drugs full of harmful chemicals that only treat a single symptom.

Reasons why it is important for you to take natural, whole food supplements:

We have depleted soils.  Foods are grown over and over again in the same soils, the mineral content of that soil depletes over time. The foods we eat no longer contain the nutrient levels we require for optimal health.  Plants are treated with pesticides and chemicals, which further diminishes nutrient levels and phytonutrient content.  Animals are in pens or  giant feedlots instead of  roaming free in the nutrient-rich wild grains and grasses they once consumed.  
Transit time for delivery of foods takes longer.  The lapsed of time food reaches to consumers losses nutritional value of the food we're eating.  Eating these foods over time creates its own set of health problems.  
Overcooked foods does kill the food, resulting in lost nutrition. As far as fruits and vegetables, consuming them in a close to a raw state as possible is always the best way.  
Not eating regular meals or skipping meals put much undue stress on the digestive system and eventually cause a lot of uncomfortable symptoms.
Water depletion.  Water is also depleted with minerals due to modern production methods.  Tap water have generally more minerals than bottled water.
Digestion issues. As we age, our bodies produce fewer enzymes, mostly the important ones needed to properly digest and assimilate the foods we eat. Resulted in common stomach complaints like reflux, heartburn, upset stomach and chronic constipation.  Besides aged intestines has slow absorbtion level of nutrients.
Stress weakens our immune system.  Taking supplements can help to bridge that gap and give our body some of the nutrition it needs to function optimally.
